Projects
Belgrade Philharmonic Concert Hall

Project made by:

A new concert hall, Belgrade Philharmonic Concert Hall, is planned at the eastern end of Block 13 in New Belgrade in Belgrade, Serbia. This block has historical significance – it contains the Palace of Serbia and lies close to the River Sava on the opposite bank from the Old Belgrade. The new concert hall will be a national facility for music operated by the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. The project has been conceived as the biggest cultural investment in the region for decades.
The Belgrade Philharmonic Concert Hall will consist of four main performance spaces: Concert Hall, Recital Hall, Podium and Creative Hub. Unlike other three performance spaces, the Podium will be designed for dual “inside / outside” usage e.g., flexible space for indoor and outdoor events. In case of the outdoor events, the building operator will need to apply for permission at the local authorities.
Universal Acoustic Solutions has been hired by AL_A (London, England) to conduct an external noise investigation for the Belgrade Philharmonic Concert Hall. The external noise investigation has been used as part of obligatory documentation for the building permit. Also, the external noise study aims to verify the external HVAC design, help the choice of the service equipment as well as recommend noise measures in order to improve the acoustic environment around the concert hall. The acoustic modelling and predictions has been performed by CadnaA.

New Transformer Station „Belgrade 47 – Belgrade Waterfront”

The construction of the new transformer station TS 110/10 kV “Belgrade 47 – Belgrade Waterfront” is planned behind the parking of the existing bus station in Belgrade, Serbia. The planned transformer station differs significantly from objects of a similar type in terms of its architecture and complexity. Additionally, the new transformer station will be located in the immediate vicinity of residential buildings in, perhaps the most luxurious, residential part of the city known as Belgrade Waterfront. For this reason, it is necessary to meet strict noise criteria according to the Serbian noise regulations.
Universal Acoustic Solutions has been hired to conduct an external noise investigation for the new transformer station. The acoustic modelling and predictions have been performed by CadnaA (modelling of sound propagation outdoors) and CadnaR (modelling of sound propagation indoors). The results of the external noise investigation have been used as part of obligatory documentation for the building permit.

BioSense amphitheater

According to the design performed by Biro Plus d.o.o., on a 1,357 square meters plot in the Novi Sad campus, a new facility of the BioSens scientific institute has been built. The investor of the 28 million euros worth project is the Ministry for Public Investment. The new facility is unique in its architecture, as it has an anti-vibration core that floats on four cushions, which enables the most sensitive scientific research in the field of micro and nano technologies. In addition, in the new building of the institute there are so-called clean rooms, laboratories equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment for multidisciplinary scientific research, a data center as well as a specially created space for startups. All this together, makes the BioSense Institute a unique institution of this type in Serbia.
In addition to the above-mentioned spaces, in the new building of the BioSense Institute above the entrance, there is also an amphitheater that stands out with its specific geometry. Our team has been hired for the acoustic design of the new BioSense Amphitheatre. The acoustic design consisted of acoustic modelling of sound phenomena in the new amphitheater, with the aim of fulfilling the values of objective acoustic parameters defined by national and international regulations and standards. Based on the acoustic modelling and calculations, different types of sound absorbers and their distribution in the space have been suggested. The results of the acoustic investigation have been used as part of obligatory documentation for the building permit.

Wind Power Plant „Crni Vrh“

Project made by:
Date:
Crni Vrh Power doo (CVP) intend to develop a wind power plant (WPP) in Eastern Serbia, Braničevo district. CVP were initially attracted to Braničevo district as this part of Serbia has a significant wind resource – one of the highest in Serbia. The site is about 12km east of the town of Žagubica and 17km northwest of the town of Bor. The Zoning Plan permits CVP to develop a WPP of up to 32 wind turbines. The total area of the WPP site is about 2,700 hectares.
Universal Acoustic Solutions has been hired by the CVP to deliver “second opinion” regarding the existing noise study for the planned WPP. The goal of the project was to conduct a detail analysis of the results and calculation methodologies used in the existing noise study, including a review of the national and international noise regulations as well as proposing optimal noise measure.
